Montreal, June 12 2013. : Canadian Rights in Quebec (“CRITIQ”) is compelled to comment on the response of our elected provincial politicians concerning the prohibition of wearing a Sikh head covering by the Quebec Soccer Federation (QSF).

CRITIQ believes that the response of the CAQ and the PQ failed to provide anything substantive and that they should refocus on the governance of the province. Financial and human capital continues to flee Quebec and while basic infrastructure continues to deteriorate our politicians are concerned with sowing divisions for their political benefit.

CRITIQ calls on our elected provincial leaders to focus on revitalizing Quebec’s economy and to demonstrate leadership in bringing Quebec residents together rather than seeking to sow divisions for their own political gain.
