‘Special Status’ Front and Center in BMO/BCG Report

CRITIQ is encouraged by the momentum that is building for Special Status for Montreal.

From the Ipsos Reid survey on the uniqueness of Montreal and the concept of Montreal City State, to the BMO/BCG report released yesterday, more and more organizations and individuals and are speaking out about the necessity of treating and supporting Montreal as an economic hub.

Mayor Denis Coderre has been an advocate of Special Status for Montreal since the creation of Notre Montréal six month ago. CRITIQ is hopeful that this new wave of support will not be wasted dialogue and that the mayor will adopt Notre Montréal as a unifying symbol of our city.
All parties must realize that Montreal is at tipping point and that urgent action is needed before more talent, jobs and investment slip away.

CRITIQ is a Quebec based organization dedicated to the protection of all fundamental civil rights and liberties available to Quebec residents by our nation’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms and by the United Nations’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights. CRITIQ is not a political party, nor does it aspire to be. Rather, it seeks to answer a recent call to leadership to put a stop to the economic demise of Montreal.
